High Performance, Healthy Schools Luncheon

On Monday, February 24th the Advanced Chorus travelled to the James "Sloppy" Floyd Building near the capitol to represent SPARK while Ms. Mobley accepted our High Performance, Healthy Schools Award from the Georgia Chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council.

From Stu Lipkin of the U.S. Green Building Council:

"I just wanted to thank you and the chorus for coming out to our event.  The feedback I have received is amazing.  Everyone thought the chorus was amazing and added a much need energy to our event.  I’ve just received the photos of the event and wanted to share them with you as well...

Again, I can’t tell you how much I appreciate you coming down to our event and performing.  It really was the highlight of the event."

Also, the U.S. Green Building Council has generously offered to sponsor one of our songs from LGPE (we'll also perform it on the spring concert which will be called "The Sun, The Moon, and the Stars")!

Advanced Chorus performed the following songs:

“Singabahambayo” a South African Freedom song in memory of Nelson Mandela

“SPARK Song” by Dawn Bell, a Springdale Park parent

“This Pretty Planet” by  Tom Chapin

“Each of Us is a Flower” by Charlotte Diamond
accompanied by Hannah Searles on bass.
